Dangote Truck Claims Lives of Family Members, Others in Enugu
Tragedy struck on Wednesday morning as a truck belonging to the Dangote Group killed an unconfirmed number of people, including family members, at Four-Corner along the Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Details of the accident remain unclear, but eyewitnesses reported that at least two family members and others lost their lives, while several people sustained injuries.
A viral video from the scene captured distressed onlookers mourning the victims and urging the Dangote Group to take urgent steps to address the frequent involvement of its trucks in fatal road accidents.
The incident has also sparked outrage on social media.
An X user, Enuguloudspeaker (@Jamessurce2), wrote:
“Dangote trailer has done it again; this time, it claimed an entire family’s lives in Enugu State. Something needs to be done about these constant accidents by Dangote drivers. May their souls rest in peace.”
Another user, @unstudentz, added:
“Dangote truck reportedly crushed several people to death this afternoon at Four Corner, Enugu State.”
This latest tragedy follows a similar case weeks ago, when a Dangote trailer ran over a young lady, Ruth Otabor, leading to her death over the weekend. The deceased, a younger sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, reportedly died after the driver—who allegedly had no licence—crushed both her legs.
