Kogi East Coalition of Political Parties Backs Hon. Abdullahi Halims for Third Term in 2027 Elections
The Kogi East Chapter of the Coalition of Political Parties has declared its readiness to support the third-term bid of Rt. Hon.
Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, who represents Ankpa, Omala, and Olamaboro Federal Constituency, in the 2027 elections. In a statement issued by its Public Relations Secretary, Mohammed Dangana, the coalition described Halims’ representation as the most impactful the constituency has experienced since the return of democracy.
They praised his consistent leadership style, noting that from his days in the Kogi State House of Assembly, he has demonstrated integrity, character, and composure in engaging with the electorate—qualities that have only deepened as his political career has progressed. The coalition explained that his fulfillment of major electoral promises, coupled with his current role as Deputy Majority Leader in the House of Representatives, justifies their Vote of Confidence in him. According to them, this endorsement translates into full backing for his third-term ambition in 2027.
Highlighting the strategic importance of his return, the coalition noted that with the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives likely to be zoned to the North Central, Halims stands as the frontrunner from the region due to his current influence and legislative experience. They stressed that the office of Speaker wields more legislative authority than that of a Senator, and securing it would bring enormous benefits to his constituency.
The group maintained that their support is driven by the desire to secure greater dividends of democracy for Ankpa, Omala, and Olamaboro. They described Halims as “tested, trusted, and proven,” urging stakeholders in Ankpa Local Government and across the All Progressives Congress (APC) to unite behind him. They advised party leaders to emulate the strategy of core northern states, where continuity in representation has consistently consolidated influence and delivered more benefits to communities.
They further appealed to aspirants eyeing the House of Representatives seat in the constituency to exercise patience, stressing that if Halims secures a third term and becomes Speaker, the opportunities and resources attached to the office will serve not only the constituency but the entire state.
In conclusion, the coalition reaffirmed its endorsement of Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims for a third term in the House of Representatives, citing his proven track record, leadership qualities, and strategic positioning in the National Assembly.
