The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Chief Benjamin Omale, has praised former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ex-Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Ambassador Terhemen Tarzoor, for endorsing the administration and 2027 re-election bid of Governor Hyacinth Alia.

Chief Omale, who acknowledged the growing wave of endorsements and widespread acceptance of Governor Alia across the state, said the governor has redefined governance in Benue since 1999 through impactful leadership and good governance.

He highlighted the governor’s achievements in massive road construction, flyovers and underpass projects, flood and erosion control, as well as advancements in health, education, and human capital development. Omale noted that such strides are attracting patriotic leaders like Ambassador Tarzoor, whose support would further strengthen efforts toward building a better Benue.

It will be recalled that Ambassador Tarzoor, during a press conference held at the NUJ House in Makurdi on Monday, October 27, 2025, publicly declared his support for Governor Alia’s administration, citing visible transformation and a genuine commitment to service delivery across the state.

Tarzoor stated that the direction the state has taken under Governor Alia aligns with the aspirations he had for Benue during his own governorship campaign a decade ago.

“Today, I find immense joy and reassurance in seeing those same aspirations reflected so vividly in the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia,” he said.

He further remarked, “The renewed hope, the smiles, and the palpable satisfaction among our people speak volumes of a government working with sincerity, accountability, and a clear sense of purpose.”

The former PDP candidate lauded Governor Alia’s focus on infrastructural development, urban renewal, and prudent management of state resources. He specifically commended the quality of roads, economic diversification, and the governor’s dedication to workers’ welfare.

Reacting to the development, Chief Omale applauded Tarzoor’s decision to support the Alia administration, describing it as a wise and patriotic move.

“Tarzoor has taken the best decision to leave the camp of critics and join hands with the governor after realizing that he is performing excellently well,” Omale stated.

He added that Tarzoor’s endorsement is proof that the Alia administration is delivering tangible dividends of democracy to the people of Benue State in all sectors.

The APC chairman emphasized that the governor’s achievements in road infrastructure, healthcare, education, electrification, agriculture, and empowerment are evident across the state.
