I’m Confident President Tinubu Will Overcome Terrorism — Atus
The Director-General of the Atum Humanitarian, Anti-Corruption and Charitable Initiative (AHACCI), Hon. Ismaila Yusuf Atus, has expressed strong confidence that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will successfully tackle terrorism, banditry, and other security challenges facing the nation.
Speaking during a media interaction, Atus said the security situation worsened under previous administrations but stressed that President Tinubu has shown the political will and commitment necessary to restore peace and stability.
He recalled that during the tenure of late former President Muhammadu Buhari, insecurity intensified, marked by rampant kidnappings, attacks, and other violent crimes affecting communities across Nigeria.
“We all know what happened in this country. There were several cases of kidnapping and many other issues. But under President Tinubu, I am optimistic things will improve. He is doing everything possible to fix the country,” Atus said.
Urging Nigerians to remain patient and supportive of the President, he advised citizens not to lose confidence in the administration’s efforts.
“We should give him more time. That is why we are asking for his re-election for a second term. With this, Nigeria will be better and more grateful,” he said.
Atus also praised President Tinubu’s humanitarian interventions, emphasizing that his policies aim to improve the welfare of vulnerable citizens, create job opportunities, and reduce hardship.
“He is taking care of a lot of vulnerable Nigerians — the old, the young — and working to create jobs. When the country is peaceful, opportunities will increase, and hardship will reduce,” he added.
He encouraged citizens to continue supporting the President as he leads the nation through essential reforms.
Atus further highlighted Tinubu’s achievements as the former Governor of Lagos State, recalling how his leadership transformed the state from insecurity to stability through initiatives like Operation Sweep and the establishment of anti-corruption agencies.
“If you knew Lagos before Tinubu took over, you would understand the transformation. At one point, you could not walk freely. But Lagos became safe and prosperous under his leadership. The same idea will make Nigeria grow,” he stated.
He concluded with prayers for long life for Nigerians to witness what he believes will be a positive turnaround under Tinubu.
“He is putting all his energy into building the country. We will support him for a second-term re-election so the progress can continue,” he said.
