The CAF Appeal Board has ruled that Senegal forfeited the AFCON 2025 final, awarding Morocco a 3–0 victory in line with Article 84 of the competition regulations.

In a statement published on CAF’s official website on Tuesday, the board confirmed that Morocco’s appeal was upheld, overturning the earlier decision of the CAF Disciplinary Board on the disputed final.

The ruling held that Senegal’s actions violated Articles 82 and 84, thereby validating Morocco’s protest and confirming the forfeiture in favour of the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football.
It further determined that the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football breached Article 82 due to the conduct of its team during the match in question.
All other applications and requests tied to the main appeal were dismissed by the CAF Appeal Board.
Regarding Morocco’s player, Ismaël Saibari, the board upheld findings of misconduct but reduced his punishment to a two-match suspension, with one of the matches suspended.
The earlier fine of 100,000 dollars imposed on the player was also cancelled.
CAF held Morocco accountable for the conduct of ball boys but reduced the fine to 50,000 dollars.
The appeal concerning interference around the OFR/VAR review area was dismissed, with the 100,000 dollars fine maintained.
However, the fine related to the laser incident involving Morocco was reduced to 10,000 dollars, while all other requests were dismissed. (NAN)
