ABIA APC Poised to Deliver Over 80% of Votes for President Tinubu in 2027; Otti Urged to Prioritize His Political Future

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has responded to claims by a Labour Party member suggesting that Governor Alex Otti will support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

While such a claim might seem flattering, especially from a party that has consistently opposed President Tinubu, the APC says it is wary of Governor Otti’s political track record, which has often been characterized by deception and unreliability.

Governor Otti and his party had rejected the results of the 2023 presidential election, refused to display President Tinubu’s official portraits in government offices, and his aides have reportedly attacked the President and his policies on social media—actions allegedly backed by his administration.
The APC notes that Otti’s recent statements of support appear insincere, relying on proxies rather than openly aligning with President Tinubu. Unlike Governors such as Charles Soludo of Anambra State, who have publicly declared their support, Otti has denied recognition of federal government projects in Abia.
The party describes this sudden endorsement as a tactic for political survival. With his re-election chances reportedly below 30%, Otti’s claims are seen as hollow compared to the APC’s growing strength in Abia, which is expected to deliver 80–90% of votes for President Tinubu in 2027.
APC Publicity Secretary Uche Aguoru urged President Tinubu to ignore these misleading overtures, emphasizing that the party’s grassroots organizations—including Renewed Hope Partners, Renewed Hope Ambassadors, City Boys Movement, and Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria—remain active and influential across the state.
Governor Otti is advised to focus on securing his own political future before making promises to a President whose mandate is firmly supported by the people of Nigeria. “A man without direction cannot lead others,” the statement concluded.
