The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Chief Benjamin Omale, has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Working Committee (NWC), and the Progressive Governors Forum for the successful conduct of the party’s National Convention held in Abuja.

In a statement issued to the media on Sunday, Omale expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his unwavering support throughout the national exercise. He also appreciated the Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, along with other progressive governors, for their contributions toward ensuring a peaceful and orderly convention.
Omale commended the organizers and congratulated the party’s National Working Committee led by Nentawe Yilwatda, noting that their emergence would further strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said:
“I extend my deepest appreciation to each and every one of you for your dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment that led to the resounding success of our National Convention held in Abuja.
“Your presence, active participation, and collective spirit of unity have once again demonstrated the strength, discipline, and maturity of our party. From the leadership to the grassroots, you all played vital roles in ensuring a peaceful, well-organized, and impactful convention.
“This success is not just an event achieved, but a strong statement of our shared vision, solidarity, and readiness to move forward with renewed purpose. Your sacrifices, coordination, and cooperation have set a solid foundation for the tasks ahead.
“As we return to our respective states and constituencies, let us carry forward the momentum, strengthen our structures, and continue to work together in unity for the progress of our party and the development of our nation.
“Thank you for your tireless efforts, your loyalty, and your belief in our collective mission. God bless you all.”
Chief Omale further expressed confidence that the ruling party would maintain its strength and secure victories at all levels in the 2027 general elections.
He added that both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia have performed commendably and deserve a second term in office.
The state chairman also called on members, leaders, and stakeholders of the party nationwide to remain committed to ensuring the re-election of President Tinubu and other performing progressive governors in the next general elections.
It would be recalled that the Benue State chapter of the APC participated in the party’s National Convention held at Eagle Square, Abuja, where Chief Benjamin Omale was formally adopted and ratified as State Chairman.
Dr. Omale led a high-powered delegation comprising state executives, delegates, and key stakeholders to the 4th National Convention, which drew party leaders from across the federation. The event featured the dissolution, constitution, and inauguration of newly elected National Working Committee members, with Professor Nentawe Yilwatda emerging as the party’s National Chairman.
According to Omale, one of the key outcomes of the convention was the adoption and ratification of party leadership across all levels—ward, local government, state, and zonal structures nationwide. This followed a motion moved by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, affirming that the congresses were conducted in substantial compliance with the Electoral Act and party guidelines, thereby strengthening the APC’s grassroots base.
The motion was seconded by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, and received overwhelming support from delegates.
