The Minister in charge of First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada, Abuja, Reverend Deji Oyelami, has called on Christians to use this year’s Good Friday as an opportunity to renew their dedication to holiness, obedience, and service to God.

He made this appeal in Abuja as part of his Good Friday message to the faithful.

Reverend Oyelami encouraged Christians to reflect on the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, which he said was for the salvation of mankind.
According to him, Good Friday is regarded as “good” not because of the suffering Christ endured, but because of the positive outcome it brought to humanity. He therefore stressed the importance of meditating on the significance of the day for spiritual growth.
In his words, “Good Friday carries deep spiritual meaning, representing the ultimate sacrifice for sins, as Jesus died as the perfect offering for mankind.”
The cleric further urged Christians to avoid actions that could symbolically lead to the crucifixion of Christ again, especially in their daily lives and service to God.
Describing the day as one for sober reflection, Reverend Oyelami also called on believers to remain steadfast in faith and prayer, following the example set by Jesus Christ.
