Mother’s Day: Rev. Deji Oyelami Urges Christian Mothers To Remain Faithful In Building Godly Homes

Christian Mothers have been advised to remain faithful in their divine assignment as builders of Godly homes and destiny.

The Minister in charge of First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja, Reverend Deji Oyelami who gave the advice in his message to mark the Church’s 2026! Mother’s Day Celebration reminded christian mothers that their labour, sacrifice, prayers and commitment to their families would not be in vain before God.

Reverend Deji Oyelami said the theme of this year’s Mother’s Day Celebration which is “My Mother, My Model” was chosen in view of the fact that children naturally learn by example hence the need for mothers to always be alive to their responsibilities in line with the teachings of the bible.

“A mother is often the first teacher, counsellor and role model in the life of a child therefore christian mothers are called to model christian like character in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity” He stated.

The Baptist Cleric therefore stressed the need for christian mothers to always train and raise their children on the fear of God and be example of righteousness and humility as maintain consistent prayer life for their family to enable the promises of God to be fulfilled in the lives of every members of their household.

According to him, the essence of the annual Mother’s Day Celebration in the Baptist Family is to appreciate and honour mothers for their God’s given roles in the home, church and society.

“It is time to celebrate their sacrifice, prayer, love, care and spiritual influence upon their children and families,

In his words “Biblical mothers are vessels by God to nurture Godly generation”.

Reverend Deji Oyelami explained that in the Baptist Family, mother’s day also serve as an opportunity to encourage women to remain steadfast in christian practices such as faith, humility, discipline, service and commitment to God’s kingdom.

While wishing christian mothers most especially those in the Baptist Family, a Happy Mother’s Day Celebration, Reverend Deji Oyelami enjoined them not to allow the current economic situation in the country affect their relationship with God and their families towards attracting divine favour and blessings in their endeavours.

Some Mothers in the church most especially members of the Women Missionary Union, MMU, expressed gratitude to God for witnessing another mother’s day in good health and divine protection despite the current challenges in the country.

Highpoints of the Church’s 2026 Mother’s Day Celebration were talk show, playlet, thanksgiving, special prayers for mothers and presentation of gifts to them by the church and their husbands as well as children among others.
