The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is set to organise its National Convention as part of efforts aimed at repositioning the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Acting Chairman of the party’s National Working Committee, Kingsley Ogga, in Abuja.

According to the statement, the convention is expected to bring together party stakeholders, delegates, state executives, youth leaders, women groups, and political observers from different parts of the country.
The statement explained that the convention would serve as a strategic platform for strengthening the party’s internal democratic structures, reviewing its political direction, and consolidating preparations for the 2027 elections.
It further stated that the event would feature the inauguration and ratification of members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), discussions on the conduct of party primaries, expansion of party structures across the country, and consultations on strategies for effective grassroots mobilisation.
The convention will also create an avenue for deliberations on national development, youth participation, women inclusion, party reforms, and the role of the ADC in strengthening democratic governance in Nigeria.
According to the statement, the gathering represents a major step toward building a stronger and more united political platform capable of offering credible leadership and alternative governance to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections.
The statement added that members of the public, party supporters, civil society organisations, and members of the media are invited to attend the convention.
