Nigeria’s Envoy to Somalia Presents Credentials, Pledges Deeper Bilateral Cooperation

Nigeria’s High Commissioner-Designate to Kenya, with concurrent accreditation to Somalia, Ambassador Danlami Ibrahim, has presented his Letters of Credence to Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in Mogadishu.

Ambassador Ibrahim presented the credentials during a ceremony at Villa Somalia, where he conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the Somali leader.

The development was contained in a statement issued by Oluwafemi Timothy Adeniyi, Spokesperson of Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.

The Nigerian envoy reaffirmed Abuja’s commitment to strengthening its bilateral relations with Somalia, stressing Nigeria’s readiness to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Ibrahim identified security and counter-terrorism, trade and investment, education, diaspora management and culture as key sectors for deeper collaboration between the two countries.

He reiterated Nigeria’s willingness to work closely with the Somali government to advance shared interests and strengthen existing diplomatic ties.

The engagement is expected to provide fresh momentum for Nigeria-Somalia relations, particularly in the areas of security, economic cooperation, education and cultural exchange.

Nigeria and Somalia have continued to maintain diplomatic relations, with both countries sharing interests in regional peace, security and development.
