The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has announced plans to host the second edition of the Farm, Food and Allied Technology (FARMFATECH) Expo in 2025.
Speaking with journalists ahead of the November event in Abuja, the ACCI President, Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, said the Expo—organized in partnership with a private organization—aims to promote Nigeria’s economic diversification by leveraging opportunities in the agricultural sector.
Represented by the ACCI Director General, Mr. Agaba Idu, Chief Obegolu emphasized the importance of innovation, food security, and mechanization in advancing agriculture.
“On behalf of the Executive Committee and Council of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), and in collaboration with Autodex Nigeria Limited, Afreximbank, and other key partners and sponsors, it gives me great pleasure to announce the 2nd Edition of the Farm, Food and Allied Technology (FARMFATECH) Expo 2025,” he said.
According to him, this year’s edition builds on the success of the inaugural Expo, reinforcing efforts to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange between Nigeria, China, and other global partners toward agricultural innovation and sustainability.
Scheduled to hold at the Velodrome, National Stadium, Abuja, the three-day event will feature over 500 exhibitors, 76 participating countries, and an estimated 500,000 visitors.
Obegolu noted that FARMFATECH 2025 will showcase state-of-the-art agro-mechanization technologies, food processing solutions, and innovations along the agricultural value chain. The Expo, he said, will serve as a platform for stakeholders to explore investments, forge partnerships, and stimulate business growth in Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
“As a Chamber, ACCI operates through over 16 sector-based trade groups, including the Agriculture Trade Group, which has been instrumental in driving this initiative,” he added.
He further stated that the Chamber’s commitment to agricultural development aligns with its broader mission of promoting productivity, food security, and employment opportunities.
“At the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we remain steadfast in our commitment to initiatives that promote economic diversification, industrial growth, and sustainable development,” Obegolu said.
He highlighted the Chamber’s four Centres—the Business, Entrepreneurship, Skills and Technology (BEST) Centre, Abuja Trade Centre (ATC), Nigerian Chamber of Commerce Dispute Resolution Centre (NCC-DRC), and the National Policy Advocacy Centre (NPAC)—as key drivers of innovation, advocacy, and capacity building across all sectors.
“The agricultural sector remains a vital pillar of Nigeria’s economy and a major contributor to GDP. Through our Agriculture Trade Group, we continue to champion the interests of farmers, agribusinesses, and investors by advancing policies, technologies, and partnerships that enhance productivity and resilience,” he noted.
Obegolu also appreciated the media for its role in promoting national development through accurate and timely reporting, urging journalists to help amplify the message and importance of FARMFATECH 2025 to encourage wider participation.
“On behalf of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, I warmly welcome all participants, exhibitors, policymakers, and investors to the 2nd Edition of the FARMFATECH Expo 2025. Together, we will continue to shape the future of agriculture in Nigeria and beyond,” he concluded.
