The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has called on members of the Christian Tourism Practitioners Association of Nigeria (CTPAN) to always uphold the nation’s image above individual interests.
He gave the charge during a meeting with the association’s members at the NCPC corporate headquarters in Abuja on October 31, 2025.
This was contained in a statement by Celestine Toruka, Deputy Director and Head of Media and Public Relations at the Commission, and made available to journalists in Abuja.
Bishop Adegbite emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and collective responsibility among all stakeholders in Christian pilgrimage operations. He noted that as representatives of Nigeria in the Holy Land, every operator bears the duty to project the country positively while upholding honesty, transparency, and integrity.
“The image of Nigeria is greater than any one of us,” the NCPC boss stated. “We must always remember that we are ambassadors of our nation and of the Christian faith.”
He further urged members to deepen collaboration, stressing that true success can only be achieved through shared purpose, mutual trust, and genuine commitment to service.
Bishop Adegbite reaffirmed the Commission’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards in pilgrimage administration and ensuring every pilgrim enjoys a safe and spiritually enriching experience. He noted that strong partnership with licensed tour operators remains central to the Commission’s success. He also expressed gratitude to God for a remarkable year of progress.
In his remarks, the Chairman of CTPAN, Rev. Dr. Israel Kristilere, commended Bishop Adegbite for his open-door leadership style and commitment to fostering collaboration between the Commission and private tour operators.
He praised the Executive Secretary’s focus on unity, transparency, and the collective growth of Christian pilgrimage in Nigeria, noting that the meeting provided a timely platform for dialogue, understanding, and renewed partnership.
Rev. Kristilere assured that CTPAN members are fully committed to working hand in hand with NCPC to achieve the objectives of the 2025 Main Pilgrimage Exercise and future programmes. He further pledged the association’s loyalty and continuous support to the Commission, expressing confidence that under Bishop Adegbite’s leadership, the Christian pilgrimage experience in Nigeria will attain greater heights.
