Akpabio Commiserates with APC Chairman, Prof. Yilwatda, on Mother’s Passing
President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, has expressed his condolences to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, following the death of his mother, Mrs. Lydia Yilwatda.
In a condolence message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio described the late Mama Lydia as “a caring and loving mother who made sacrifices for her children and the wider family.”
He noted that though Mama Lydia passed away at the age of 83, her guidance and nurturing presence were still very much needed by her children and the present generation.
Akpabio stated that he was consoled by the fact that Mama Lydia lived a life of service. Alongside her late husband, Rev. Toma Yilwatda, she diligently raised their children, who are today contributing meaningfully to society’s growth and development.
“Mama Lydia will be remembered for her enduring legacies as a pillar of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), particularly its women’s wing, and as the mother of the national chairman of our great party. Her passing is a great loss to the Yilwatda family, the people of Plateau State, and indeed the entire nation,” Akpabio said.
He added:
“On behalf of my family, constituents, the 10th Senate, and the entire National Assembly, I extend heartfelt condolences to our national chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, at this difficult time. I pray that Almighty God grants Mama Lydia eternal rest and comforts the family. May her memories remain a source of strength and inspiration during this period of mourning.”
