The National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Comrade Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu, has condemned the actions of Agu Ne Eche Mba operatives who allegedly stripped a female corps member in Anambra State.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Chukwu described the incident as an act of “overzealousness” capable of denting the image of Governor Charles Soludo, who established the security outfit to protect lives and property in the state.

“Agu Ne Eche Mba means ‘The Tiger that Guards the Town.’ It is meant to guard, not gag the people,” he said. “It is not in the character of the governor, who in his wisdom established this outfit, to abuse fundamental rights of citizens, not to talk of corps members.”

The APGA youths commended Governor Soludo for his swift response and the arrest of the operatives involved. They also tendered an apology to the victim, stressing that no Nigerian youth, particularly one serving the nation, should ever be subjected to such indignity.

“We reiterate that nothing justifies this act. It is a direct disrespect to human dignity as against the democratic government operational in Anambra State under Governor Soludo,” the statement added.

While condemning the misconduct, Chukwu urged citizens, especially youths, to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and supportive of security agencies. He emphasized that the partnership between security operatives and communities is vital for ensuring safety.

“To the young female corps member who became the victim of this human error, we offer our deepest apology once again,” he said. “However, we must not lose sight of the fact that security operatives are ultimately serving us. Without them, our communities would be vulnerable and unsafe.”
