Akpabio Pays Tribute to Late Former PDP Chairman Audu Ogbeh

President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has mourned the passing of Chief Audu Ogbeh, former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in the first term of the late President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and ex-chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio described the late former Minister of Communication in the Second Republic as a distinguished elder statesman who lived a life marked by service and integrity.

“It is with great sadness that I received the news of the passing of Chief Audu Ogbeh, a distinguished elder statesman and a dedicated public servant. Chief Ogbeh lived a life of service, integrity, and commitment to the development of our nation.

“As a two-time minister under different administrations, the former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made significant contributions to agriculture, rural development, and nation-building—achievements that will be remembered for years to come.

“Chief Audu Ogbeh was an intellectual storehouse whose legacy of service and dedication to Nigeria stands as a testament to his character and commitment to public service. We will sorely miss him.”

On behalf of his family, constituents, and the 10th Senate, Akpabio extended his condolences to Chief Ogbeh’s family, friends, political associates, the people and government of Benue State, and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He prayed that God grants the bereaved family the strength to bear the loss and that the late statesman’s soul finds eternal rest.
