The Commissioners of Police for Benue and Enugu States, CP Ifeanyi Emenari and CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, on October 29, 2025, held a strategic operational meeting aimed at deepening inter-command collaboration and addressing emerging security challenges affecting both States.

The meeting, which took place in Benue State, focused on tackling the infiltration of criminal elements and their collaboration with unscrupulous individuals in border communities—factors identified as major enablers of interstate crimes.

Both Commissioners resolved to strengthen interstate crime-fighting efforts through enhanced intelligence sharing, coordinated operations, and joint deployment of security resources to curb violent crimes within the border areas.

The renewed partnership will focus on Ado, Ogbadibo, and Okpokwu Local Government Areas in Benue State, as well as Igbo-Eze North, Isi-Uzo, and Udenu Local Government Areas in Enugu State.

A joint statement signed by SP Daniel Ndukwe and DSP Edet Udeme, Police Public Relations Officers for Enugu and Benue State Commands respectively, noted that senior operational officers from both Commands attended the meeting. It further stated that such meetings would be held regularly to sustain the joint efforts.

It would be recalled that the two Commands recently worked together to apprehend criminal suspects operating across both States, rescuing kidnapped victims and recovering stolen vehicles, laptops, mobile phones, and other stolen items.
