A leading chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2026 Area Council elections, Hon. Dr.

Ubasinachi, has declared the party’s recent primary elections across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) a success, describing them as a sign that “APGA is on the rise again.

In a statement issued on Monday, Ubasinachi said the peaceful and transparent conduct of the primaries across the six Area Councils reaffirmed APGA’s reputation as a progressive party, committed to justice, hard work, and grassroots engagement.

“We have demonstrated our commitment to justice and hard work. APGA is the true alternative to the misrule that has plagued the six Area Councils in the FCT,” Ubasinachi stated.

He attributed the renewed optimism within the party to the leadership of the National Chairman, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa Jr., whom he praised for bringing integrity, transparency, and internal party discipline to APGA, mirroring the values championed by Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo.

Reflecting on his long-standing membership, Ubasinachi noted he first joined the party in 2004 during the tenure of Chief Maxi Okwu as Acting National Chairman. He said he has never felt more confident in the party’s readiness to contest and win elections in the FCT.

“Our candidates are exceptional mobilizers, and our grassroots engagement has been outstanding. Our chances of success are very high if we receive support from the party across the board,” he added.

However, the AMAC chairmanship hopeful urged party stakeholders to avoid internal strife and public disputes that could damage APGA’s image.

“APGA FCT has faced challenges regarding integrity in the past before the arrival of our new Chairman. I sincerely hope we do not regress, as that would be detrimental to the party’s reputation,” he warned.

“We must make conscious efforts to reposition APGA as a national party serious about contesting and winning elections beyond Anambra, just as the great Odumegwu Ojukwu envisioned.”

Ubasinachi congratulated all APGA candidates for their resilience and expressed gratitude to God and the party’s National Working Committee for their support. He pledged to support the “DRIVE AGENDA” of the national leadership and announced the upcoming launch of the Greater AMAC Campaign Program (GAC) to rally support across the area council.

“I have instructed my media partners both print and broadcast, to stay alert for political engagement as we unveil our GREATER AMAC CAMPAIGN PROGRAM,” he said.

Ubasinachi will be contesting for the chairmanship seat of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the 2026 council elections.
