Bishop Adegbite expresses concern over killings in Plateau as Christian celebrate Easter

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has felicitated with the Christian faithful for the successful completion of the Lenten season, which culminates in the celebration of Easter.

Bishop Adegbite, in his Easter message, said that without the resurrection, there would be no Christianity
calling for an end to incessant killing of innocent people in plateau state and other parts of the country.

He said the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has brought an end to calamity and redeemed Christains from sin.

According to him, Jesus came to bring hope and make lives more meaningful for everyone.

He therefore called on political office holders to look into the plight of the citizens and come up with initiatives to make Nigerians enjoy the full dividends of democracy.

He expressed worry that some politicians were busy campaigning for 2027 instead of ensuring full implementation of policies and programs of the current administration to better lives of the citizenry.

He therefore appealed to the political class to work for the progress of the nation and place national interest above personal ambition.

Bishop Adegbite reassured Nigerians that the Renewed Hope Programs of the current administration would alleviate the plight of the down troden and empower youths and women for national development.

He reiterated the need for Nigerians not to relent in praying for those in authority and remain patriotic as the country is in the hands of God.

He stressed that the NCPC, under his leadership, is experiencing great transformation as the just concluded 2024 pilgrimage was adjudged the best in the history of the commission.

According to him, the exercise recorded zero abscondment with all the Pilgrims experiencing spiritual rebirth.

He said the commission has commenced preparation for the 2025 pilgrimage with emphasis on ensuring that only those yearning for spiritual growth would be allowed to participate in the exercise to Jordan and Israel.

He urged corporate organizations and religious institutions as well as well-meaning individuals to sponsor the less privileged Christians yearning for spiritual rejuvenation.
