By our Correspondent
Nigerians have been admonished not to give in to despair despite the prevailing challenges facing the nation.
The Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, Garki, Abuja, Reverend Tom Takpatore, gave the advice during a three-day program themed “Covenant of Enlargement.
” He expressed optimism that the current difficulties confronting the country would soon become a thing of the past.According to Reverend Takpatore, Nigeria remains a divine project, and God will certainly fulfill His covenant concerning the nation.
Also speaking, the Guest Minister, Reverend Dickson Madoghwe, urged Nigerians to maintain a balance of gratitude and faith, trusting in God’s perfect timing for their “Covenant of Enlargement.”
He emphasized that a believer’s joy stems from appreciating God’s past faithfulness while waiting for the fulfillment of future promises.
“There are two perspectives to this message,” Reverend Madoghwe said. “The first is to show appreciation for all the things God has already done for our families. If we look at our lives, there are many things that have brought us joy.”
He added that the second perspective involves areas where individuals continue to trust God for breakthroughs — including jobs, children, and personal achievements.
The guest speaker also encouraged Christians to live impactful lives that would be remembered by future generations.
In her remarks, the President of the Women Missionary Union of the Church, Deaconess Olukemi Adebimpe-Ojo, reassured believers that God never fails to fulfill His promises.
“The servants of God have spoken. One thing that is certain about God is that He is never late. Our timing is not God’s timing,” she said.
She acknowledged the many struggles Nigerians face — from prolonged unemployment and the wait for children to the desire for home ownership — and urged the faithful to continue turning to God for strength.
The revival service also featured prayers for the nation, its leaders, and for a collective spirit of perseverance among citizens, reinforcing the central message of hope anchored in faith.
