Easter: Make Welfare Of Citizens A Priority – Ndukuba Urges Leaders
The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, has called on those in authority to emulate the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ by prioritising the welfare of citizens.
Speaking during a special Easter Sunday service at the Cathedral Church of Advent, Life Camp, Abuja, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba noted that Jesus Christ surrendered His life and was crucified so that mankind could have eternal life.
He stated that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ brought hope, joy, and a new beginning to humanity, expressing optimism that the same would usher in prosperity for the country.
Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba also urged citizens not to lose hope but to continue supporting those in authority through prayers to achieve national transformation.
The Anglican Primate, however, appealed to leaders at all levels to shun corruption and place national interest above personal ambition.
According to him, God has entrusted them with positions of authority to serve the people and cater to their wellbeing, rather than misappropriating public funds.
He emphasised that equitable distribution of wealth would help end agitations and promote peace across the country.
