The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong warning to the public, distancing itself from a fake recruitment exercise currently being circulated across online platforms.

In a statement signed by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Spokesperson of the Ministry, the public was urged to disregard the fraudulent advertisement which falsely bears the signature of the Honourable Minister and invites applications for positions in the Ministry.

“The Ministry unequivocally disassociate itself from this misleading and malicious advertisement,” the statement read. “We advise members of the public not to engage with individuals or organizations promoting this scam.”

The Ministry further clarified that all recruitment into the Nigerian Foreign Service is strictly handled by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) and that it neither conducts direct recruitment nor demands payments for job applications or employment placements.

The warning comes amid rising concerns over the proliferation of online employment scams in Nigeria, targeting unsuspecting job seekers.

The Ministry emphasized its commitment to transparency, integrity, and the protection of the public from deceitful practices. It called on Nigerians to remain vigilant and report suspicious recruitment offers to the appropriate authorities.
