President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally written to the Nigerian Senate, seeking confirmation of Muttaqha Rabe Darma from Katsina State as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The letter was read on Wednesday during plenary by Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio, who subsequently referred it to the Committee of the Whole for consideration.

In his remarks, Akpabio assured that the Senate is prepared to carry out an expedited confirmation process once the nominee is cleared by security agencies.
It would be recalled that President Tinubu carried out a minor cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday, which led to the removal of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun.
The nomination of Darma is part of the fresh appointments made by the President as efforts continue to reposition and strengthen his cabinet.
