Hope, Faith and Giving Take Centre Stage in Okrika
Nigerians facing difficult circumstances have been urged to remain hopeful, prayerful and steadfast, while trusting God for solutions even when challenges appear overwhelming.
The call was made by humanitarian, Sir Godfrey Ohuabunwa, during the Feeding the Needy Programme organised by the Help Without Boundaries Initiative in collaboration with Morning Flight 97. 7 FM at Okrika National Secondary School, Okrika, Rivers State.
Speaking to elderly people, children and other members of the community who attended the outreach, Ohuabunwa said difficult circumstances should not make people abandon hope or stop believing that their situations can change.
Drawing from Jeremiah 32:27, he reminded the participants that nothing is too difficult for God and urged them to continue praying and committing their challenges to Him.
Ohuabunwa also encouraged parents not to give up on children who may have gone astray, stressing that with persistent prayer, guidance and love, such children can still return to the right path.
He cited the biblical story of Hannah as an example of the power of persistent prayer, noting that her faith and continued supplication eventually brought an answer to her long-standing challenge.
The humanitarian further referred to the account of Jesus Christ feeding the five thousand, saying the story demonstrates God’s ability to provide for people in need and use individuals to make a difference in the lives of others.
The programme also featured a salvation message from John 3:16, with participants encouraged to embrace the Christian faith and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Several participants responded to the altar call and gave their lives to Christ.
Earlier, the event featured prayers, praise and worship, as well as testimonies from members of the Morning Flight family on God’s faithfulness in their lives.
The Feeding the Needy Programme provided food and support to vulnerable members of the Okrika community, particularly the elderly, children and other residents in need.
The initiative, organised under the Help Without Boundaries Initiative, seeks to combine humanitarian assistance with compassion, community support and encouragement for vulnerable people.
The Okrika outreach demonstrated that humanitarian intervention can go beyond the provision of material needs by also restoring hope, strengthening community bonds and reminding people that they are not forgotten.
The programme ended with a renewed message of hope, faith, compassion and service to humanity.
