Legendary Nigerian Highlife musician, Mike Ejeagha, has passed on , aged 95 years

Ejeagha, widely celebrated for blending traditional Igbo folklore and proverbs into his distinctive musical style, passed away on Friday night at the 32 Garrison Hospital in Enugu after a long illness.

His death was confirmed by his eldest son, Emma Ejeagha.

A cultural icon, Ejeagha rose to national prominence in the 1980s, becoming a household name with his rich, storytelling approach to music that resonated deeply across generations. His legacy continues to influence Highlife and Igbo music traditions to this day.
