Kogi Governor Loses Father, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo

The father of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has passed away at the age of 83.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, in Lokoja, the late Ododo died on Monday evening, August 18, 2025.

The statement noted that his Janazah and burial would take place the same day in line with Islamic rites.

The Kogi State Government prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and asked Allah to strengthen the Governor and his family during this period of grief.

“We pray to Allah (SWT) to forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus,” the statement read.

It further prayed for fortitude for the Governor, his immediate family, and the entire Ododo family to bear the loss.
