Mas and Ebuka two cases of similar lessons.

There is this story that is making rounds on social media platforms. I read it yesterday and it stired up some deep thoughts beyond the whiping up of sizzling sentiments that goes of too quickly like slices of onions in a hot oil.
It was about Ebuka, who at a time was the son of a school gateman. Demeaned, disgraced and spoken to condescendingly by his peers because of his father’ situation.
He lìved through all these dehumanized treats, though bright and intelligent, topping the class in excellence.
Got scholarship, travelled outside the shores, empowered himself through sound education, made money and came back to give back to the very school where he was lowly treated and despised as the son of a gateman.
What made Ebuka big primarily wasn’t his condition, not even his brilliance . They may be secondary and tertiary factors. His success and self worth were primarily the function of his mindset, his disposition and attitude to life and challenges.
He chose to see them however bad and frustrating from the light of positivity, seeing light at the tunnel however flickering.
In the case of Mas. He was at a time denigrated by a system that he was pulling by its shoe strings. Using his time, talents and treasure at a time to serve. The system got flawed at a time by an entrance of a man who made ridicule of whatever good he did.
The system moved on , leaving him behind, creating a sad impression of one who did nothing to impact and impart, more of years of futility under his watch.
He bored all that with spark and glow, doing all that he could to give helping hands from the background regardless. Not discouraged.
His resources weren’t spared still. With it many were inspired and aspired but not manipulated. Like a gold that has no hidding place his glow and shinning capacity began to dazzle again the very system that ridiculed him.
Wooing him again became like a project too precious. A scorpion that “stings”nothing but good deeds, he stung the system that removed and set him aside.
Till today the “stinging” has neither stopped nor reduced . It flows, one wonders if there is an ocean of goodness flowing from his heart.
Today he is the most celebrated in that system that rejected him. Uncle Mas !! Uncle Mas!!! A name that resonates, on the lips of all, for his “stinging” goodness very unmatched.
Today he is at the very top of this system that threw him under the bus. Just like Ebuka what made Mas wasn’t his situation and challenges at a time but his attitude to what happened to him.
He wasn’t boiling with animosity. He lived with a mind free from rancour and grievance. He moved on, still exhibiting goodness even to the very system that undid him at a time.
Good attitude is key in whatever one is either doing or passing through. With good attitude, the darkest spot in ones life could be the best Illumination spot in ones life.
Time the best currency. When used with good attitude, good heart etc it can buy anything.
Congratulations Uncle Mas!! As he is popularly called
