Mid last year through the ingenious creativity of Brainjotter one of the social media influencers and comedians, the song of the lengendry Mike Ejeagha- Enyi Ga Achi( It is the Elephant that would Rule) was popularised. This song debuted over 30 years ago. Though it trended then, but not as much as it trended last year.

From this song, the Gwo gwo gwo ngwo dance became a dance everyone danced. Thanks to Brainjotter. Both in the church, at social events etc, Gwo gwo gwo ngwo became a signature. The house of lengendry Mike Ejeagha became a pilgrimage centre sort of at that time.

The fame and popularity that he never experienced in his lifetime swooned on him like a tsunami, making his lyrics Uwa Ngbede Ka Mma( Life with patience is better) a reality.

Few months after, precisely on the 6th of June this year he passed at the ripe old age of 95 years. One would have expected the buzzing of the internet, the celebration of life on the social media of the passing into glory of a legend who few months ago through his song “Enyi ga achi” and Gwo gwo gwo ngwo dance set the internet on fire. Nothing was heard in commensurate measure. Such is life. It seems like a bitch sometimes, and in other time like an angel with drums of honey for ones lick and relishing.

Nothing trends forever and nothing trends twice. There is time for everything, there are seasons and the worth of something or someone is determined by people not by the intrinsic qualities they possess.

However classic, fashionable, top-notch, ingenious or toxic, if humans do not acknowledge, promote and patronise them, they would remain invisible in their classic and fashionable states.

In life there is always a trigger for something or somebody to gain visibility. Such trigger may come in many diverse ways, but humans are largely the vehicle to make it happen. Gwo gwo gwo ngwo dance was triggered by Brainjotter and humans gave it visibility. It trended!!

We have few human triggers who are ingeniously creative but with many human vehicles to carry them out, poach , plagiarize and possibly cash out on them.

Human beings basically are flies. They don’t create honey environments often times, but once created their swooping becomes massive, and in quick move disperse once it finishes.

Imagine what the internet would have turned into if the likes of Brainjotter had triggered creatively the death of Pa Mike Ejeagha. Like a honeycomb, all would have perched and poached on it like flies like they did with Gwo gwo gwo ngwo dance.

Rest in peace Papa Mike Ejeagha. You came, you saw and you conquered. Your visibility through your song “Enyi Ga Achi” wouldn’t wean. On the hall of fame it has etched your name. At the twilight of your life, the events around you left us with big lessons. ..

Your death was no less in provoking and triggering deeper lessons of what life is, how human beings react to things and the reality of the dynamics of fame and popularity.

Life is very unpredictable. The cheers, hype and adulation of men very short lived, unreliable and very slippery. Never bank and build hope around what men can do. Their actions are like whirlwind, one isn’t sure when it comes and where it would end, the only assurance is in its present spiralling spot, beyond that nothing about it is certain.

Be real! Be genuine! Be strong and upright! Whatever comes your way, wouldn’t be either a painful or pleasant suprise. Uwa ngbede ka mma( patience is better) at the least
