The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has successfully wrapped up the 2025 Main Pilgrimage exercise to Israel and Jordan, with the safe return of the final group of Christian pilgrims.

The last batch arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at exactly 4:00 a.
m. on March 3, 2026.

Addressing journalists at a press briefing in Lagos this morning, the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, expressed heartfelt appreciation to President Bola Tinubu, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, for their unwavering support. According to him, “Without the President’s support, we would not have been able to conduct the five pilgrimages carried out since my appointment two years ago.”
Bishop Adegbite reiterated that the Commission places top priority on the safety and welfare of Nigerian pilgrims. He explained that recent developments in the Middle East, particularly the declaration of a state of emergency in Israel, have resulted in the suspension of all pilgrimage activities, including those organized by private pilgrimage operators, pending the restoration of normalcy.
He assured that the NCPC is closely monitoring the situation and expressed gratitude to stakeholders and members of the media for their cooperation. Bishop Adegbite also called on Nigerians to continue praying for peace in Jerusalem and across the Middle East.
