NDC begins sale of 2027 nomination forms, fixes presidential ticket at ₦60 million ahead of May 29 primary.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has commenced the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the 2027 General Elections.
The party also fixed May 29, 2026, for its presidential primary in Abuja.


According to the NDC, the sale of forms will run from Wednesday, May 13, to Monday, May 18, 2026.

The party pegged nomination fees between ₦2.5 million for State House of Assembly aspirants and ₦60 million for presidential aspirants.
In a statement signed by the National Chairman of the NDC, Senator Moses Cleopas Zuwoghe, and the National Secretary, Mr. Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, the party stated that House of Representatives aspirants would pay ₦6 million, Senate aspirants ₦8 million, while governorship aspirants would pay ₦30 million.
The statement further noted that female aspirants and persons with disabilities would enjoy discounts of 50 percent and 25 percent respectively on the nomination fees.
The NDC explained that screening exercises would take place from May 19 to May 21, while the sale of nomination forms would continue from May 21 to May 23. Aspirants were directed to submit completed forms on or before May 25.
The party also disclosed that appeals would be heard on May 25 and 26, while primaries for State Assembly, National Assembly, and Governorship positions would hold on May 27 and 28.
It added that State Assembly aspirants would be screened in their respective states, while National Assembly and presidential aspirants would be screened at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
The NDC further stated that governorship primaries would be conducted at the local government level using an open secret ballot system.
The party urged all aspirants to sign an undertaking to abide by its code of conduct.
The NDC assured members that the process would be transparent and inclusive, adding that its nomination fees remain lower than those charged by other major political parties.
