The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of results for 632,788 candidates who sat for the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to the Board, candidates who participated in the examination on Thursday, April 16, 2026, can now check their results using its official SMS platform.

To access their scores, candidates are required to send UTMERESULT via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number (SIM) they used during registration. JAMB explained that, at this stage, candidates can only view their results, as the printing option has not yet been activated.
The Board also issued a strong warning against any attempt to manipulate or falsify results obtained through official channels. It emphasized that altering SMS results or using electronic tools, including artificial intelligence, to generate fake scores is a serious criminal offence.
JAMB disclosed that two candidates and one parent have already been arrested for allegedly engaging in result manipulation.
The Board reiterated that anyone found guilty of such acts will face the full weight of the law, stressing that it maintains zero tolerance for examination malpractice.
“The examination is ongoing, and results will continue to be released as they become available,” the statement added.
The announcement was signed by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.
