President Tinubu Welcomes Senegal’s President Faye in Abuja During West Africa Economic Summit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday received the President of Senegal, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye, in Abuja, as regional leaders gather for the West Africa Economic Summit 2025.
The Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, received President Faye at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on behalf of President Tinubu, extending a warm welcome to the Senegalese delegation.
President Faye’s visit is part of broader efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and deepen regional cooperation as West African nations confront shared economic and security challenges.

The West Africa Economic Summit 2025, currently underway in Abuja, brings together heads of state, policymakers, and economic stakeholders to deliberate on strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing economic integration and sustainable development across the sub-region. Key themes at this year’s summit include youth empowerment, regional trade facilitation, and collaborative strategies for economic resilience.
Officials from both Nigeria and Senegal have emphasized the importance of the summit as a platform to forge a new era of regional partnership and mutual prosperity.
President Faye’s participation underscores growing momentum among ECOWAS members to pursue a collective vision for West Africa’s future.
