Female staff of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) have been urged to uphold professionalism and build stronger workplace influence through confidence, discipline, and continuous self-improvement.

The charge was given by the Executive Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi Fadahunsi, during the company’s first all-female staff meeting held on April 28, 2026, at its headquarters in Abuja.

Fadahunsi described professional presence as a reflection of competence, credibility, and character demonstrated consistently in the workplace. She encouraged female employees to confidently express their knowledge and contribute meaningfully across all operational levels.

“As women, we must be comfortable expressing our knowledge and making decisions within our scope. Whether in the control room, on-site, or in management meetings, let us speak with clarity and confidence,” she said.

She stressed that enhancing professional presence is not about competition but about strengthening collective impact, noting that confidence and excellence contribute to both career growth and organisational success.

Fadahunsi further advised staff to develop strong communication skills, maintain appropriate corporate appearance, respect organisational structures, and prioritise integrity, visibility, and continuous learning.

On workplace wellness, General Manager, Medical, Dr. Agatha Edet-Ademiluyi, spoke on managing stress and maintaining good hygiene, emphasising the importance of balanced nutrition, exercise, routine medical checks, and effective time management.

Other presentations at the meeting covered workplace relationships, transparency, and security. Jane Okemini, addressed transparency and accountability.

General Manager, Corporate Security Services, Mrs. Jemila Tani, also spoke on the role of staff in ensuring workplace security.

The event drew participation from female staff across departments, including representatives from ICT, audit, legal, medical, public affairs, and corporate security units.
The initiative is part of TCN’s broader commitment to promoting gender inclusion and enhancing professional excellence within its workforce.
