The alt bank Brings Banking, Healthcare Services to Six Locations in Agege
Residents of Agege, Lagos State, are set to benefit from a new community-based service model combining banking and primary healthcare, as alt bank prepares to launch six AltBox facilities across the local government area.
The initiative, being implemented in partnership with Agege Local Government, will be formally unveiled on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 11 a.m.
The council is led by its Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa.
The AltBox project is designed to bring essential financial and healthcare services closer to residents by providing dedicated banking and primary healthcare sections within the same facility.
The bank said the arrangement would improve convenience for traders, individuals and small business owners, while extending access to formal financial services and basic healthcare at the community level.
It added that the initiative would also create local employment opportunities and encourage greater economic participation among residents.

The six facilities form part of a wider expansion plan to establish an integrated AltBox in each of the seven wards in Agege Local Government Area.
According to the bank, the project is driven by the need to extend financial inclusion beyond conventional banking locations and reach communities where access to formal financial services may be limited.
The healthcare component is intended to complement the banking services, ensuring that residents can access two essential services within their communities.
The initiative also aligns with alt bank’s HEART strategy, which recognises health as an important component of its community investment.
The bank described the project as an example of how financial institutions and local authorities can work together to develop infrastructure that addresses the everyday needs of residents.
It expressed readiness to extend the model to other local and state governments interested in improving access to primary healthcare and expanding financial inclusion.
Alt bank said partnerships with public institutions would help deliver solutions tailored to the needs of individual communities while supporting economic opportunities.
The bank began operations in January 2014 as a non-interest banking window within Sterling Bank before obtaining a standalone banking licence from the Central Bank of Nigeria in July 2023.
It is guided by an Advisory Committee of Experts and operates in accordance with the principles of non-interest banking.
