A Lagos car dealer is in agony after a midnight fire swept through his car lot, destroying vehicles worth over N700 million, including his personal investments and customers’ cars awaiting delivery.

In a heartbreaking video circulating online, the dealer was seen struggling to contain his emotions as he recounted the devastating incident. More than N500 million worth of his personal vehicles were reportedly destroyed, alongside cars belonging to customers who had already paid and were waiting for delivery.

Years of hard work, loans and sleepless nights were wiped out in a single night of fire.

According to the dealer, he had closed his business premises at about 10 p.m. as usual, hoping for another successful day of sales. However, around 2 a.m., he received a phone call from his security guard, who informed him that the premises were on fire.

He immediately opened his CCTV application and was shocked to see flames spreading from one vehicle to another, destroying everything in their path.

The car lot he had built from nothing was going up in flames, while he watched helplessly from a distance.
“My cars worth over N500 million,” he lamented, his voice breaking as smoke engulfed the CCTV screen.
