The National President of the non-governmental organization, Youth for Development in Africa (YFDA), Amb. Dr.

Paschal Anyanwu, has congratulated Nigerians, particularly youths and members of the Coalition of NGOs and CEOs, for witnessing the year 2026.

In his New Year message, Amb.
Dr. Anyanwu described the past year as one of the most challenging periods for the nation and its citizens. He expressed optimism, however, that with God on the side of Nigeria and Nigerians, 2026 would be better than previous years, as the country overcomes its security and economic challenges.
The YFDA National President stressed the need for all Nigerians, especially the political class, to remain committed to the ideals and aspirations of the nation’s founding fathers in 2026, in order to reposition Nigeria for greatness.
Amb. Dr. Anyanwu used the opportunity to once again appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to, before the end of 2026, direct officials responsible for the release of all grants subscribed to by Nigerians and NGOs to expedite their disbursement. He said the grants were meant to support businesses and improve economic wellbeing, noting that beneficiaries could no longer endure the worsening economic hardship in the country.
According to him, over 50 million Nigerians who subscribed to the grants over the years are still awaiting disbursement. He lamented that some subscribers have died, while many others are sick, frustrated, depressed, homeless, or have had their children withdrawn from school while waiting for the grants.
“I want to bring to the notice of all Nigerians who subscribed under All Grants in Nigeria that I, the National President of the Association of NGOs and CEOs, Amb. Dr. Paschal Anyanwu, will, from 2026, take up the matter with those withholding the release of these grants,” he warned. “The grace granted to them is enough, as the disbursement has taken too long due to their failure to open up and clearly explain what is happening.”
He further stated: “This time around, I want all security agencies—the Police, DSS, and others concerned—to be ready, because my people and I will approach them regarding these grant handlers. They must come out to explain to Nigerians what the problem is and why the masses have not received the promised grants, which they claim are available. The release is long overdue, and this time the masses want to know the truth.”
The YFDA President, who said he believes in President Tinubu’s capacity to listen to the cries of the suffering masses, explained that the urgent release of the grants would boost public confidence, especially in the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration.
He called on all stakeholders to support the success of the present administration, expressing confidence that President Tinubu would not disappoint Nigerians at such a critical time.
Amb. Dr. Anyanwu also called for stronger measures to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), emphasizing the need for increased public-private sector collaboration to address Nigeria’s economic challenges.
While wishing Nigerians—especially youths and members of the Coalition of NGOs and CEOs—a happy and prosperous New Year, he prayed for God’s blessings upon all citizens, good health, and the grace to witness many more fulfilled years.
