2027: Former PDP Governorship Candidate, Tarzoor, Backs Governor Alia for Second Term

Former Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State and ex-Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Terhemen Tarzoor, has declared his support for Governor Rev.

Tarzoor made this known on Monday while addressing journalists in Makurdi, expressing confidence in Governor Alia’s leadership and the transformation currently taking place across the state.

According to him, Benue State is undergoing a renaissance under the stewardship of Governor Alia — one that restores public trust in governance and rekindles the collective spirit of its people.

Reflecting on his 2015 gubernatorial ambition, Tarzoor said that although his own aspirations to govern the state did not materialize, he now finds fulfillment seeing those same dreams being realized through Governor Alia’s visionary leadership.

“Each time I visit our beloved state, I am inspired by the visible transformation taking place — from the remarkable urban renewal of our capital city to the spread of development projects across our rural communities,” he stated.

He commended the governor’s sincerity, accountability, and sense of purpose, noting that “the renewed hope, smiles, and satisfaction among the people speak volumes of a government working genuinely for the common good.”

Tarzoor further praised Governor Alia’s humility, discipline, and results-driven leadership, describing him as a man of integrity whose devotion to service aligns with his own ideals for Benue State.

He said, “I wish to express my profound appreciation to Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia for his exemplary stewardship and to affirm my total and unwavering support for his administration.”

Highlighting some of the administration’s achievements, Tarzoor lauded the governor’s prudent management of state resources, massive infrastructural development, economic diversification, and commitment to workers’ welfare.

“In light of these achievements, I wholeheartedly endorse Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia for a second term as Governor of Benue State,” he declared. “I am committed to standing with him, lending my voice, resources, and every possible support to ensure that the progress we are witnessing is sustained and expanded for the greater good of all.”

He added that Governor Alia’s emergence and performance have rekindled the ideals of purposeful leadership and inspired a new generation of Benue youths to believe once again in selfless public service.

“From this day forward, I pledge to stand firmly with this administration, offering every support within my capacity to ensure the success and continuity of its noble vision,” Tarzoor affirmed.

Expressing optimism about the state’s future, he said under Governor Alia’s guidance, Benue is on a path of genuine transformation that will define its history and shape a brighter, more prosperous future for generations to come.

“As we continue on this journey of renewal,” Tarzoor concluded, “may Almighty God bless His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, with greater wisdom, strength, and divine direction to complete the great work he has begun. May God also bless the good people of Benue State with unity, patience, and enduring faith in this unfolding story of growth and progress.”
