2027 race begins to take shape as Abdullahi Sule endorses Ahmed Aliyu Wadada and meets Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Aso Rock.
Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has presented Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as his preferred successor ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Governor Sule, who will complete his second term in 2027, said Senator Wadada emerged as a consensus candidate for the forthcoming election.
Senator Wadada, currently representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, was elected into the 10th National Assembly under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) but later defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in preparation for the 2027 political contest.
The meeting between the governor, the president, and the senator took place on Friday at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.
It would be recalled that Governor Sule had earlier unveiled Wadada as his preferred successor during a meeting with political appointees at the Government House in Lafia.
Senator Wadada also serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Accounts.
