The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, has officially declared his intention to seek re-election by purchasing his Expression of Interest and Nomination Form at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State Secretariat in Makurdi, Benue State.

Speaking to members of the State Working Committee, party stakeholders, and supporters on Friday, Moro reiterated his dedication to delivering quality representation in the Senate while contributing to the overall success of PDP candidates in the upcoming elections.

The lawmaker, who described himself as the first senatorial aspirant to personally obtain the nomination form, said the move reflects his seriousness and commitment to the electoral process.
“I am excited to pick the form as the first senatorial aspirant. I came to buy it myself, not through a proxy, to show that we are serious,” he said.
Moro also expressed confidence in the PDP’s chances ahead of the 2027 general elections, stating that the party is poised to regain power in Benue State.
He congratulated party members on what he termed a recent judicial victory, noting that earlier concerns about the PDP’s ability to field candidates have now been resolved.
“Naysayers and pessimists said we wouldn’t have a platform to contest elections, but today, we are contesting on the platform of the PDP, and that alone calls for celebration, aside from the victories that await us in 2027,” he stated.
The senator encouraged party members who did not secure nominations to remain hopeful and resilient, emphasizing that persistence is key in politics.
“It is painful to lose a nomination or election, but it’s not about how many times you fall; what matters is your ability to rise again,” he added.
Reaffirming his loyalty to the party and his constituents, Moro pledged to work tirelessly to ensure victory for all PDP candidates, especially in Benue South, which he described as a stronghold of the party.
“I will fight for myself and other PDP flag bearers to win our elections for our party. Zone C is the home of the PDP, and we shall demonstrate that in the forthcoming general elections,” he said.
He also assured the people of Benue South of continued effective representation, promising not to disappoint them.
