The Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, Neda Imasuen, has attributed the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just-concluded Edo State re-run election to the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu and the developmental projects of Governor Monday Okpebholo.

Speaking with journalists in his office on Thursday after returning from Edo State alongside the Senator-elect, Joseph Ikpea, Senator Imasuen congratulated the people of Edo Central for embracing President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at transforming Nigeria.

According to him, the outcome of the re-run election clearly shows that the APC remains the dominant party in Edo State. He noted that only the APC effectively campaigned ahead of the polls, adding that no other party presented a viable alternative.

He challenged opposition parties to present credible programs that can compete with the APC’s agenda rather than making claims on the pages of newspapers.

Senator Imasuen also commended Governor Okpebholo for his bold steps in repositioning Edo State, urging Nigerians to continue to support President Tinubu’s economic reforms and Renewed Hope Agenda.

On his part, Senator-elect Joseph Ikpea dedicated the victory to God and the people of Edo Central “for choosing vision over sentiment and progress over politics.”

“I will work hand in hand with our governor, our party, and community leaders to ensure that every part of Edo Central feels the impact of quality representation,” he said.

Ikpea, who replaces Governor Okpebholo in the Senate, pledged to build on the governor’s legacy. “As a senator, I will work hard not to disappoint him and the people of Edo Central,” he assured.

The Edo Central senatorial re-run election was held last Saturday and was won by Senator Joseph Ikpea of the APC.
