2027: Get Your PVC, Nasarawa Speaker Tells Residents …Seeks Automatic Tickets for APC Lawmakers
By David Odama
Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has urged residents of the state to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He also called for automatic return tickets for lawmakers seeking re-election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
Jatau made the call at the flag-off of the APC Grassroots Sensitization and Voters Education on INEC’s Continuous Voters Registration, held alongside the celebration of the two-year anniversary of Dr. Aliyu Bello and Mr. Yairus Dagusa as State Chairman and Secretary of the party respectively, at the APC Secretariat in Lafia.
The Speaker charged party leaders and members to move across all nooks and crannies of the state to sensitize residents on the importance of registering for their PVCs.
While congratulating Bello and Dagusa on their two years in office, he lauded their contributions to stabilizing the party in the state and wished them continued success.
He further stressed the need for unity among APC members to ensure victory in the forthcoming elections.
“I congratulate the APC Chairman and Secretary on their two-year anniversary. Their efforts have brought stability to the party in Nasarawa. I commend the party for this initiative to sensitize our people on the importance of voter registration. Our population has grown, but the number of registered voters remains low. People must register and collect their PVCs,” Jatau stated.
The Speaker pledged to mobilize his constituency for the exercise, assuring that the Assembly would continue to support government policies and programs for the development of the state.
“The Nasarawa State House of Assembly, under my leadership, will continue to enact laws and resolutions that have direct impact on the people while supporting government efforts to provide good governance and more dividends of democracy.
“For the good work lawmakers are doing in the Assembly, I appeal that Honourable members who wish to re-contest be considered by the party for automatic tickets in the next elections,” he added.
Jatau also appealed to politicians and aspirants to conduct themselves with maturity and abide by the rules of politics.
