Gov. Mutfwang to Receive APC Membership Card Friday

The Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, is set to formally join the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday, January 2, 2026, following his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).


In a resignation letter dated December 29, 2025, and addressed to the Ward Chairman of the PDP, Ampang West Ward, Mangu Local Government Area, Governor Mutfwang formally announced his withdrawal from the party with immediate effect.

“I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect,” the Governor stated.
He added, “Given the realities of the moment, and guided by my unwavering commitment to purposeful leadership, clarity of direction, and effective service delivery, I am compelled to seek an alternative political platform to participate in the political process.”
Governor Mutfwang expressed deep appreciation to the PDP for providing him the platform to pursue his political aspirations, while also thanking party members and supporters for their loyalty and support over the years.
According to the Governor, his decision to join the APC is a strategic and well-considered move taken in the overriding interest of the people of Plateau State. He explained that the move would better align the state’s development objectives with the policies and programmes of the Federal Government, thereby accelerating growth and delivering increased dividends of democracy to the people.
He reaffirmed his commitment to purposeful leadership, inclusive governance, and unity across Plateau State, stressing that breaking barriers of division remains essential to achieving collective growth and sustainable development.
A statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Executive Governor, Dr. Gyang Bere, disclosed that the formal registration and presentation of the APC membership card to Governor Mutfwang will take place on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Victoria Gowon Hall, Government House, Rayfield, by 11:00 a.m.
The statement further revealed that the Governor will thereafter proceed to the Plateau State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Kalwa House, Yakubu Gowon Way, Jos, where he will formally interface with party leaders and members.
Party faithful, political associates, supporters, admirers, and well-wishers are cordially invited to attend and witness the historic event.
