Nigeria’s Super Falcons will kick off their pursuit of a record-extending continental crown in Casablanca following the release of fixtures for the 14th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) finals, scheduled to hold in Morocco.

Placed in Group C, the nine-time African champions will contend with Zambia, Egypt and Malawi in what is expected to be a keenly fought opening round.
All Group C matches will take place in Casablanca, allowing Nigeria to operate from a single base as they seek to reclaim the title.
The 2026 tournament will be staged across three Moroccan cities — Rabat, Casablanca and Fès — with Rabat hosting matches at two venues, further reinforcing Morocco’s growing status as a destination for major African football events.
For Nigeria, the fixtures mark another chapter in a familiar quest. As the most successful side in the history of the competition, the Super Falcons will be strongly fancied to finish top of Group C, though they are likely to face stiff resistance, especially from Zambia, who have risen in recent years as one of Africa’s most competitive women’s teams.
Egypt and Malawi will also be aiming to challenge the traditional order, making Nigeria’s group matches vital in setting the tone for their overall campaign.
In the other groups, hosts Morocco headline Group A alongside Algeria, Senegal and Kenya. Defending champions South Africa lead Group B, which also features Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Tanzania. Group D consists of Ghana, Cameroon, Mali and Cape Verde.
With the match schedule now confirmed, attention will shift to preparations and squad selection as the Super Falcons look to reassert their dominance on the continental stage and launch their WAFCON journey on the familiar, high-pressure grounds of Casablanca.
