Lobi Stars Football Club defeated Kada Warriors 1-0 in a rescheduled National Nigeria League (NNL) match.
The encounter, played on Wednesday evening, marked Lobi Stars’ final home game of the season, with fans holding high expectations for a strong finish.

The only goal of the match came just before halftime, when attacker Suur Kumaga converted from the penalty spot. The penalty was awarded after Dominic Foga was fouled inside the box, prompting the referee to point to the spot.
Kumaga confidently stepped up and struck the ball past the goalkeeper, who dived the wrong way, to give his side the lead.
In the second half, Lobi Stars pushed to extend their advantage but were unable to convert their chances. Kada Warriors, owned by former Super Eagles winger Garba Lawal, also threatened and came close to leveling the score.
Speaking to sports writers after the match, Head Coach John Onuh expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance but lamented missed opportunities that could have increased their goal tally.
Onuh also regretted his inability to secure promotion back to the top flight but remained content with the team’s overall performance.
“There are a lot of things to overhaul. I took over the team at the end of the first round of the season. I had to work hard, and the boys also cooperated. We injected a few players to ensure a turnaround, but as you can see, we still need to make many changes to prepare well and get the promotion we need back to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL),” Onuh said.
Meanwhile, a state-owned financial institution, Novus Bank, presented a cheque of N50,000 to Valentine Egiga, who was named Man of the Match.
