Akpabio Mourns Segun Awolowo Jnr, Describes His Passing as a Major Loss to the Nation

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden passing of Barrister Segun Awolowo Jnr, describing the loss of the Awolowo family scion as a significant blow to the Yoruba race and the nation as a whole.

Responding to the news of the death of the grandson of the sage, Obafemi Awolowo, Akpabio said in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, “The news of the demise of my friend and brother, Segun, came to me unexpectedly. I am in shock. But who are we to question the decision of our Creator? He determines when we arrive and when we depart.”

He extended his condolences to the entire Awolowo family of Ikenne, Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun, and the people of the Gateway State, describing the loss as irreplaceable. According to him, Segun’s untimely death is a major national loss, and his thoughts are with Segun’s wife and children at this difficult time.

Akpabio noted that Segun’s legacy as a brilliant lawyer, devoted family man, and compassionate individual would continue to inspire many. He emphasized that his contributions to the legal profession and to society would be remembered for generations.
