APC E-Registration: Andura Enrols in Mbatan, Rallies Community Participation
From Dooshima Terkura, Makurdi
Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Special Assistant to the Benue State Governor on Community Relations and Engagements, Mr. Terna Andura, has mobilised residents of his community to take part in the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) e-registration exercise.
Andura made the call after registering as the first APC member in Mbatan Council Ward, Mbayion, Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, where he was issued membership registration number 001 as part of the party’s ongoing e-registration and revalidation exercise.
Speaking shortly after his registration at Apine Market Square, the venue of the exercise, the Special Assistant urged the councillor and APC members in Mbatan Council Ward to provide maximum support to registration officials and to intensify mobilisation to ensure widespread participation.
According to him, the exercise will continue until the end of January, stressing that only duly verified and registered members would be eligible to take part in the forthcoming APC congresses.
Andura appealed to community members to seize the opportunity, recalling that Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, during the official flag-off, had assured that areas with higher registration figures would receive priority attention from the government. He urged residents to register en masse, noting that party registration remains the only pathway to voting for preferred candidates in future elections.
While commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for introducing the e-registration initiative—which he said would help the party accurately assess its numerical strength—Andura also praised Governor Alia for his inclusive and participatory leadership style.
He further called on APC members within and outside the ward to foster unity and build a strong, formidable party structure capable of attracting meaningful development to the area.
The Special Assistant also encouraged existing APC members to revalidate their registrations, while inviting new members to join the party and complete the registration process.
Expressing satisfaction with the turnout at the e-registration centre, Andura described it as a clear demonstration of commitment and support for the re-election bids of Governor Alia and President Tinubu in 2027.
Several APC members who spoke with our correspondent, including Pa Iorlaha Steven, Idye Avule, and Atakpa Patrick, commended Governor Alia for appointing their son into his administration, affirming their unwavering support for the Governor’s re-election bid in 2027.
