APC House of Rep Primaries: SGF’s wife , Marks Daughter, two other wins Nomination Tickets to recontest

The House of Representatives primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Benue State has been concluded with most of the serving members failing to clinch ticket to recontest their positions com 2027.
Results from the primaries held on Saturday across the 11 federal constituencies in the state shows that only four out of the 11 incumbent members picked nomination tickets as candidates.
Collating the results at the APC Secretariat in Makurdi, on Sunday, the Chairman, National Assembly Primary Election Committee, Alh Sabiu Saidu Mahuta, declared Wife of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Regina Akume nominated for Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency.
She scored 19,638 to defeat former state Commissioner for Trade, Industry and Investment, Alomo Orpin who polled 2779 votes
Daughter of former Senate President David Mark, Mrs Blessing Onuh also won convincingly for Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency with 17,451 beating Lawrence Onoja who got 974.
Also, Mr Solomon Wombo emerged victorious for Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo Federal Constituency after scoring 64,274 votes to defeat his closest rival Asom Julius who got 611.
Other results showed that for Oju/Obi Federal Constituency, Peter Ogbodo got 12,993 to defeat the incumbent Ogewu David who polled 120 votes, while for Gwer/Gwer West Constituency, David Nongo polled 17, 421 to defeat the current serving member, Asema Achado who got 729.
In Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency, Mr Livinus Tsar beat Sesoo Gboko with 28,549 to 693 votes.
Our correspondent reports that Mr Ojema Ojotu retain his nomination for Apa/Agatu scoring 11,305 with Danladi Ochekpe getting 934 votes while Mr Dickson Tarkighir lost to Christopher Ikper with 37,844 to 1,746 votes for the Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency
For Buruku Federal Constituency, Mr Gideon Inyom defeated the incumbent Sekav Iortyom with 10,470 votes to 1,396 votes just former state assembly member for Ado constituency, Anthony Agom won Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo with 19,124 to beat his rival Innocent who scored 884 and Kohol Iornem polled 40,672 to defeat former speaker of the State Assembly Terkimbi Ikyange who got 1785 votes.
Incidences of violence, snatching of electoral materials were reported in two council wards of Mbanyesi and Gbemacha in Gwer East and also, Mbantyo, Mbayaca in Buruku Federal constituencies.
The Senate Primaries hold tomorrow.
