Arochukwu/Ohafia 2027: Why Ifeanyi Ogbonna Remains by Far the Best, Ahead of Others

A coalition of stakeholders from Arochukwu and Ohafia Local Government Areas of Abia North Senatorial District has thrown its weight behind the House of Representatives ambition of All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Hon.

The endorsement was conveyed in a statement issued on Wednesday under the aegis of the Polling Booth Rangers for Ignes (PBRI), and signed by its General Secretary on Publicity, Chief Chidi Okwudiri, in Ohafia.

The group described Ogbonna as “the most credible and widely accepted aspirant” for the Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general elections, noting that his growing popularity across communities has positioned him as a leading contender within the APC.

According to the statement, Ogbonna has continued to distinguish himself through sustained grassroots engagement and humanitarian interventions, even without holding any elective office.

“At a time when many individuals wait to assume public office before making meaningful contributions, Ifeanyi Elvis Ogbonna has consistently demonstrated that leadership is defined by service, not position,” the group stated.

They highlighted his contributions through the Ignes Ogbonna Movement (IOM), which they said is anchored on three key pillars: education, economic empowerment and social unity.

On education, the stakeholders noted that Ogbonna has sponsored scholarships for several students from underprivileged backgrounds, enabling them to pursue their academic aspirations.

In the area of economic empowerment, the group said he has supported numerous youths and community members with resources to establish small-scale businesses, thereby promoting self-reliance and boosting grassroots economic development.

The statement further commended his efforts in fostering unity and youth engagement through sports and cultural initiatives, including the sponsorship of football competitions for male and female teams, as well as the organisation of cultural events aimed at strengthening community bonds.

The coalition emphasized that many of Ogbonna’s interventions are carried out quietly, reflecting what they described as his genuine commitment to humanity and community development.

“Through personal resources and dedication, he has continued to invest in youth development, community cohesion and human empowerment. This has endeared him to many as a grassroots mobiliser and a leader with a sincere passion for uplifting others,” the statement added.

The group, therefore, urged the APC and stakeholders in the constituency to consider Ogbonna as a consensus candidate, citing his track record of service and widespread acceptance among the people.
