The Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Chief Benjamin Omale, has called for unity among party faithful, urging them to sustain their support for the party to ensure the re-election of Governor Hyacinth Alia in 2027.

Chief Omale made the call while hosting party faithful, including youths and women, to a dinner at his Makurdi residence, organised to thank God for His protection, guidance and faithfulness to the APC family in Benue State throughout 2025.

The event brought together critical stakeholders, including members of the media, security chiefs, women groups and the Alia Performing Musicians (APM) from across the state.
According to the APC chairman, the unity, strength and renewed commitment of the party, especially as the political atmosphere gradually shifts towards the 2027 general elections, are crucial to achieving victory at the polls.
Omale explained that the gathering was also organised to appreciate party members, particularly youths and women, for their loyalty, sacrifices and unwavering support for the party at all levels.
He commended the APC youths for what he described as their “homefront soldier-like” commitment in confronting dangers and risks while remaining unharmed, stressing that unity and peace remain powerful tools for building a successful political party and winning elections, especially as the party works towards the re-election of Governor Alia.
“The party wants to appreciate the youths in a special way for supporting His Excellency and ensuring that the Alia movement is not cut short. You have truly made us proud in the state,” Omale said. “You have promoted the party beyond reasonable doubt, and that is why I chose to host you and a few others to this dinner.
“So, thank you for your sacrifice, love, patience and moral support, as well as for promoting the good works of His Excellency, Governor Alia. I want to assure you that this new year holds a lot of hope, promise and aspirations that will lead you to your next destination.”
He further assured that Governor Alia has the interest of the youths at heart, adding that they would be adequately incorporated into the administration’s plans from 2026 onward.
“I want to assure you that Governor Alia thinks about you, plans with you and will incorporate you into his plans come 2026. I will ensure that the youths of Benue State are not disenfranchised but remain firm wherever they are. The party will support you in all your activities to keep the people united and promote the party, especially towards the re-election of Governor Hyacinth Alia in 2027,” he said.
Omale added that the party is proud of the youths because of their understanding of the terrain and pledged continued support for their efforts.
The APC chairman, who is also the Chairman of the Enugu Orthopaedic Hospital, used the occasion to acknowledge the contributions of the Alia Performing Musicians (APM) for using music to promote the achievements and good governance of Governor Alia in the state.
He announced that the party would soon launch a platform to be known as “Alia Praise Singers,” which would bring together musicians to accompany the governor and celebrate his achievements in line with his performance.
“To the Alia Performing Musicians, we have not abandoned you. We allowed you to grow stronger, and now that we have seen your standard, we are confident you are ready to be presented to His Excellency,” he said.
Omale also thanked the media, security agencies and other critical stakeholders for their understanding, cooperation and support in ensuring the success of the Alia administration, assuring them of continued partnership.
Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilisation and Illegal Levies, Mr Terver Gbenda, praised Chief Omale for his leadership style, openness and commitment to the growth of the APC in Benue State.
He described the get-together as timely and necessary for strengthening bonds among party members across the state and pledged to continue mobilising youths to support Governor Alia’s administration and work towards his victory in 2027.
