The Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) on Saturday hosted football enthusiasts in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, at a UEFA Champions League Final Watch Party.
The event, held at Sese Event Center and facilitated by Benue music icon and State Coordinator of the National Brand and Made in Nigeria Project, Hon. Orduen Ikon, popularly known as OD Woods, provided a vibrant matchday experience while showcasing the company’s products, particularly ZEVA Lager Beer.
Speaking to journalists at the event, the Group Managing Director of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, said the watch party formed part of the company’s market penetration strategy aimed at increasing public awareness and consumption of its products.
He revealed that BIPC intends to commence advertising its brewery products during the forthcoming FIFA World Cup and encouraged residents of Benue State to patronize locally manufactured products to enhance revenue generation and create employment opportunities.
According to him, the consumption of local products plays a vital role in economic development.
“In behavioral economics, citizens are encouraged to consume what they produce because doing so helps grow local businesses and strengthens the economy,” he stated.
Dr. Asemakaha urged residents to opt for ZEVA Beer and Oyi Bitters whenever they consume alcoholic beverages. He added that the brewery also produces malt drinks and is expanding into the production of carbonated soft drinks to cater to non-alcohol consumers.
He further disclosed that the ongoing installation of equipment at the brewery would greatly improve production capacity and support the economic development agenda of the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.
Also speaking, the Plant Manager of Food Basket Brewery, Emmanuel Adoje, and the plant machinery installer, Engr. Luo, described the brewery’s products as premium-quality beverages produced to meet international standards.
Facilitator of the event and State Coordinator of the National Brand and Made in Nigeria Project, Orduen Andrew Ikon, said the initiative was designed to unite football lovers while promoting awareness of locally produced beverages.
He noted that the collaboration between entertainment, sports, and local industry would enhance the visibility and acceptance of Benue-made products among consumers.
